What was the highlight of Hostal La Pinta
Would not recommend unless solitude and staying outside La Candelaria are proirity
Staff was friendly and for the most part tried to help out. You have to buzz in to get into the building and doors, even for dorms, were locked with a key. Lockers for each dorm bed included a lock (provided), but not all locks worked. Quick and reasonably priced laundry service. Close to 24 hour supermarket. Convenient public transport to La Candelaria. Considered safe area. Lots of good food options within walking distance.
When I checked out, there was some question over whether or not I paid. Thankfully I had asked for and kept my receipt. Even so, there seemed to be a follow up question about whether I paid the right amount. No hot water. Broken locker. Bathroom ceiling was incomplete, but didn't appear to be under construction; you could basically look up to the attic. Breakfast appeared to be cereal and a small fruit plate. It appears you can pay to have a more extensive breakfast though (due to cards with price lists and breakfast items). There were hardly any people staying here. Vibe was kind of eerie and unwelcoming, possibly due to so few guests. Common areas included a bar area, kitchen and reception area that was like a living room you don't want to hang out in. Neighborhood appears mostly residential with lots of nice (read: not budget friendly) restaurants. Not much to see or do unless you want to do things you do at home (cinema, eat pizza, etc.). Lots of noise from the nearby busy road woke me up at 6. 30+ minutes away from old city center by public transport (~2500 COP one way).

Super relaxed atmosphere, a Place to chill and no party...
Super relaxed atmosphere, a Place to chill and no party hostel! Super Service eg laundy and amazing location I loved the female dorm which has its own bathroom. Felt like a private room but with fun company

Choose it only for position
Only the position and some kind people of the staff. Very close to carrera 7, with direct bus to/from airport. Lots of good restaurant around.
No key was given for the room (shared), so when other guests close the door it was impossible to get inside: always somebody from the reception should come and open the door. Room and mattress not very comfortable, little space for personal belongings and few plugs. Lot of noise from the road, cause the windows didn't isolate at all. Part of the breakfast was on sale.
